The BC SPCA, Vernon Branch has several Mastiff puppies in their care that are looking for loving homes.

There are six puppies that are adoptable right now, including Tank, Toyo, Tundra, Taho, Rosie and Cricket.

The pups are 7-months-old, and were surrendered when the owner was unable to find homes for them.

The SPCA is looking for owners who have at least one-acre of land for a big, playful puppy to enjoy.

They note that the puppies are a type of “flock guardian,” so prospective adopters will need to research the breed as their lifestyle requirements are different than your average dogs.

The puppies have lived their lives so far on a farm with children, other dogs, cats, and cattle. They also love to romp around in the snow.

Tundra, for example, is described as “a very sweet boy who can be a bit shy at first but warms up quickly with gentle handling. Once he trusts you Tundra becomes a big, silly puppy!”

If you think one of these pups would fit into your family, please contact the Vernon shelter (4800 Haney Rd) to arrange a meeting.
